Shanghai is so huge, I thought I'd just share the Metro map with you. You can get an interactive copy here at the Shanghai Metro website in English. It's a fantastic system and gets you around the city so easily. If you head to a Metro station Service Desk they can get you a Travel-card for RMB 20 deposit (so you get it back at the end of your stay) and top it up with as much money as you want to. A trip from an "end of the line" Metro station to a central city station is around RMB 10 and a couple of stops anywhere is around RMB 2. As you pass through the "ticket" barriers, you can see the remaining balance on your card so you should never be stuck. Too easy!
